Do you believe invoking the dealth penalty can save lives? And why?

I don't believe that. Can you imagine someone who wouldn't be deterred by the thought of life in prison being deterred by the thought of the death penalty? We can keep violent offenders off the street if we enforce life in prison without parole. Also, it would put us in better company. Check out the few advanced countries that still have the death penalty. In 2006, 91 per cent of all known executions took place in six countries: China, Iran, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan and the USA.
