Mtg help for green/red dragon deck?

Why not use Llanowar Elves or Birds of Paradise instead? These 2 cards will help you accelerate your mana a lot faster as they can come out first turn. Green/Red for dragons is not that strong especially when Black/Red and Black/Red/Green is so much more powerful. B/R/G gives you access to powerful cards like Hellkite Overlord and many other Jund dragons from the Shards of Alara block.
