Could you please explain this?

So guy knows I like him, but says he sees me as friend, ignores me. When I stay cool for a week (like not bumping into him, no Hi or smiling...not ignoring him, but just trying not to cross him), he starts to show off when I'm near. When laughs looks at me, gets really loud and gets nervous when sees me from afar. Like goes out his way just to hear at least Hi from me.
